Noam Chomsky!!!

Avram Noam Chomsky was born on the 7th December 1928 and is an American linguist, philosopher, cogitive scientist, historian and activist. His work has influenced fields such as computer science, mathematics, and psychology.

He says that people in media will cause things to happen that will suit the audience, mostly in newspapers, news reports or radio. his 5 filters is an attempt at systematic bias meaning the media is changed to be bias against the audience, these will distort a story before its published. The first is ownership: The size and profit-seeking the media uses to create bias. The second, funding: Funding generated through advertising. Third is  sourcing: Relating to the sourcing of mass media news. Fourth is flak:  It may take the form of letters, telegrams, phone calls, petitions, law-suits, speeches and Bills as a negative response and the 5th and final filter is Anti'communism and fear: As manufacturing consent was written in the cold war, anti-ideologies exploit public fear and hatred of groups that pose a potential threat, either real, exaggerated or imagined.
